What is Ultherapy®?

Ultherapy® is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that uses micro-focused ultrasound energy to lift and tighten the skin. It’s FDA-cleared and often used on the face, neck, under the chin, brow, and décolletage. Ultherapy® uses microfocused ultrasound to heat deep layers of the skin (up to 4.5mm deep). This heat stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, leading to firmer, tighter skin over several months. How does Ultherapy® work?

Ultherapy® works by using micro-focused ultrasound energy to target the deep layers of the skin, including the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) — the same layer addressed in surgical facelifts.

During the treatment, our providers use real-time ultrasound imaging to visualize the skin layers and ensure precise delivery of energy to the right depth. Ultherapy® delivers micro-focused ultrasound waves at specific depths (typically 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, and 4.5 mm below the skin) without damaging the skin surface. The ultrasound energy creates tiny, controlled thermal injuries in the targeted tissue. These injuries trigger the body’s natural healing process, stimulating new collagen and elastin production. Over time, this causes the skin to lift and tighten gradually. The skin starts improving over 2–3 months, with continued tightening possible for up to 12-18 months post-treatment. Before your treatment, topical numbing cream will be applied to the area being treated for 20-30. The handpiece delivers focused ultrasound to multiple depths. What to expect after treatment

Immediately after your treatment, you may return to daily activities immediately. Your skin will feel slightly warm and tender for a few days. Some report a mild lift immediately. Noticeable tightening develops over 2–3 months, continuing up to 12-18 months.
