What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is an innovative treatment that creates thousands of “micro” skin punctures per second to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process to prompt tissue remodeling without scar formation.
At PureSkin Dermatology, we pride ourselves on providing our patients with the most effective treatments in each class, which is why we offer SkinPen® – Health Canada approved and the industry’s most effective and clinically proven microneedling device.
Safe for all skin types, and clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and much more.
What to expect during a treatment
Prior to your treatment, we recommend avoiding any exfoliating products for at least 48 hours. At the time of your procedure, your skin will be cleansed, and a topical numbing cream will be used for your comfort.
The SkinPen® will then be used on cleansed skin, creating thousands of microchannels to trigger skin regeneration and to actively deliver drug to deeper layers of your skin during treatment.
Once your treatment is complete, a soothing post care regimen will be placed on your skin before you leave. Maximum results are seen with multiple treatments.
What to expect after a treatment
After each treatment, your skin may be red and slightly swollen for a few days and will typically take 5-7 days to heal. Our skincare experts will provide you with post care instructions and products to use to help with the healing and remodelling process.
Once the skin has healed, you will notice an improvement in the texture and tone of your skin. Over the course of 3-6 months, your skin will regenerate new collagen for a more youthful appearance.
