Laser Treatment for Skin Resurfacing (Fraxel and Clear & Brilliant)
Description
Improve your skin texture and fight early signs of aging, with the Industry’s leading technology in skin resurfacing treatments – Fraxel Restore® or Clear & Brilliant®.
Fraxel® Restore 1550nm erbium fibre laser is the gold standard for skin resurfacing. Fraxel® targets aging and sun-damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into your skin to expedite your body’s remodeling of collagen.
Clear & Brilliant® is a more gentle, yet effective non-ablative fractional laser therapy with dual wavelengths (1927nm and 1440nm) to safely treat all skin types. Decrease pore size, improve skin texture and tone, improve fines lines, resulting in glowing, radiant, youthful skin.
Soften your skin for a more radiant and glowing look, in as little as one treatment.
- Non-invasive skin resurfacing
- Treat aged, sun-damaged skin, surgical and acne scars, and hyperpigmentation
- Minimal downtime
What is the difference between Fraxel® and Clear & Brilliant®?
Fraxel® Restore 1550nm erbium fibre laser is an intensive, deeply penetrating, skin resurfacing procedure to treat wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, uneven skin tone, acne and surgical scars, stretch marks and more. Fraxel® is the gold standard in skin resurfacing and is a more powerful treatment than our Clear & Brilliant®, which comes with slightly longer downtime.
Clear & Brilliant®, also known as the “mini Fraxel®”, is also a non-ablative fractional laser skin resurfacing treatment, which treats more superficial skin concerns, and treats signs of aging by providing a smoother skin tone and texture. The Clear & Brilliant® treatment system is an innovative procedure that gives patients noticeable results with less downtime.
Fraxel® vs Clear & Brilliant® - Which is right for you?
- Consider the Fraxel® treatment if you have more advanced skin concerns such as age spots, melasma, acne or surgical scars, lines and wrinkles or sun damage.
- Clear & Brilliant® is a more gentle resurfacing treatment which targets pigmentation and skin texture to give skin a “glowing” appearance.
- In addition to medical grade skincare, either Fraxel® or Clear & Brilliant® are excellent option for patients looking to treat and lighten their pigmentation and melasma. The choice is determined by our Medical Director, depending on depth of melasma and skin type.
What To Expect
What to expect during treatment
Before your treatment, topical numbing cream will be applied to the area being treated for 30-60 min prior to treatment.
Your eyes will be protected, and multiple passes will be made over the treatment area with the handpiece. You will feel mild warmth during the treatment, but most patients find the treatment extremely comfortable.
What to expect after treatment
Immediately after your treatment, you may experience redness and very mild swelling that may last for a few hours. Your skin will feel rough to the touch, like fine sandpaper for a few days. You may develop darkening/superficial crusting of brown spots for a few days after treatment.
These are called MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris). Within 5-7 days this layer of skin will slough off, leaving you with bright and glowing skin.
